The latest edition in a long tradition…

The history of Utah art has been well chronicled throughout the years. In 1914, Alice Merrill Horne published the first compilation, Devotees and Their Shrines. It was followed up in 1965 with 100 years of Utah Painting by James Haseltine.

Then in 1980, the comprehensive Dictionary of Utah Art was published by Dr. Robert Olpin, followed up 11 years later by Utah Art by Vern Swanson, Robert Olpin, and William Seifrit.

Now after 31 years, the most researched and exhaustive volume is available chronicling the history of every artist from Utah or working in Utah dating back to 1847. This volume will serve as the primary source for research and information about the fine arts in Utah for generations to come.
